Barbican and Golden Lane Neighbourhood Forum - drop in at Community Centre

June 8, 2023 from 5pm to 6:30pm
The Barbican and Golden Lane community has applied to become a designated neighbourhood forum so that it can prepare a neighbourhood plan and participate in local planning matters on a statutory basis. Under the government’s Localism legislation, communities can draw up their own plans that become part of the statutory framework for land use. This will be the City of London’s first neighbourhood forum and neighbourhood plan.The application is supported by local residents, councillors, businesses and community groups such as GLERA and the BA. Event Description

For June we have sound and singing for you.

Think you can't sing? nor can some of us, you're not alone.

Learn how to warm-up your vocal chords in the way singers do, sing a mixture of songs over the years. No sheets needed, the words will be on your screen. We will be on mute to hear Jordan, you can belt out to your hearts content. Join in via zoom 10am to 11am.

Open to City Carers, friends, family and City residents of all ages. Booking is required, for the zoom link email to: CityCarersCommunity@gmail.com


Extra information:
- Can I attend one or more sessions?
As we look after someone too we understand flexibility is key, you are welcome to join one or all the sessions
- Can I be seated?
Yes of course, have a little space to be able to stretch out your arms.
- Who is teaching the session?
All sessions taught by Jordan Theis. Jordan is Music Director of The Museum Singers, Youth Choirs at St. Luke’s Battersea, Community Choir at St. Botolph without Aldgate and The Friends’ Musick.
- I don’t have access to Zoom:
Contact the Barbican library. Who are remotely teaching residents how to use Zoom if you have access to a computer/tablet/mobile. Age Uk City of London have loan tablets and have arranged to teach residents how to use the technology, contact Alice/Sharon if you would like to learn 02034886884.
- I am not a carer can I attend?
Of course, as this is via zoom its open to all residents in the City.
- Who are the City Carers Community?
We are City Residents who are looking after/ caring for someone who could not manage without our support all of this is known as unpaid caring. We are not paid care workers. If you know of someone that would like to be connected with others in the same situation do let them know of us.
