 idential housing units to cultural, historic and commercial properties
 . This building stock is among the oldest in the world, and as a resul
 t, often fails to meet our needs, for example in public health or envi
 ronmental demands.\r\nThe tragic death of Awaab Ishak put a spotlight 
 on problems around condensation, which affect 450,000 homes in England
 . The UK’s built environment is responsible for 25% of its greenhous
 e gas emissions. These problems are in urgent need of addressing – w
 e know there are architectural, technical, social and policy solutions
 .\r\nBuilding, maintaining and demolishing buildings is responsible fo
 r more emissions than aviation and shipping combined. Any strategy to 
 improve the quality of London’s building stock must therefore take a
