SUMMARY:Online lecture: Boundaries in time, place and material
DESCRIPTION:The Charterhouse is delighted that this year's Thomas Sutt
on Lecture is an online presentation by eminent architect Eric Parry R
A, MA (Cantab), MA (RCA), AADipl, RIBA. Eric Parry, with his practice,
Eric Parry Architects, was commissioned back in 2014 to take on the m
ajor HLF-funded project of opening up the Charterhouse to the public f
or the first time, creating a new entrance, reception, museum and lear
ning centre which complemented the ancient architecture here, and crea
ted a compelling and engaging visitor experience.\nThis is a sequel to
Eric Parry's lecture given last year for the London Festival of Archi
tecture, exploring the theme of 'Boundaries'. Eric Parry will focus on
the intentions for the 'Revealing the Charterhouse' project, both soc
ial and architectural. One boundary that will be illustrated, with ref
erence to the Charterhouse and other examples, will be the questions o
f responding to important historical contexts.\n\nBook you place in ad
vance at the link provided.\n\nFor more information visit http://www.g
