There was a very interesting presentation by Co-operative Town last night at the Glera meeting. It was about setting up food cooperative. Ideally 20 households get together and pay £5 a week. This total of £100 is used by the group to buy fruit and veg etc from wholesale outlets. You also sign up with Fareshare or Felix who send surplus from supermarkets, bakers, restaurants, ready meals depending on what they have. There is no choice just surprises.
Every household takes a turn ordering, sorting out food received for the others to collect .
There is a foundation meeting in SRPR at 7pm on Tuesday 29th April
