EXHIBIT gallery cordially invites you to the opening of Golden Oldies II by Patricia Niven

Golden Oldies II is a continuation of a project initiated by EXHIBIT and Patricia Niven in 2009, celebrating long-term residents of the Golden Lane Estate in Central London.

The first stage of the project, Golden Oldies, documented nine residents in a series of intimate and affecting images. Golden Oldies II documents a further five long-term Estate residents, producing a new series of compelling portraits.

Living on the Estate has given Niven a rewarding relationship with the older neighbours. She explains that she is drawn to the history and story of the individual, and to the openness of the older people living on the Estate. It was this enthusiasm from the local community to the 2009 exhibition that helped bring forward more willing participants to make this second stage possible.
