Dear residents, for those who were not aware, a major gas leak was detected in the vicinity of Basterfield House early this morning.  Police, gas engineers and the London fire brigade attended and several blocks and estate entrances were cordoned off to protect residents and members of the general public.  I have been reliably informed as of 2:00 p.m. today that police have now started to allow people back into the estate.
