Dear Mary,

We are writing to you in our new roles as joint acting chairs of GLERA. 

We understand that you will be one of members of the City of London Dispensations Sub (Standards) Committee on Monday 18th November 2019.

Earlier this year, as residents of the Golden Lane Estate and the City of London we petitioned the Court of Common Council expressing no confidence in the City’s policy on  and practice in standards. Thank you for being one of the 1,100 plus residents who signed the petition.

As you know, in the petition residents called for the granting of “general” dispensations to be granted to allow resident Common Councillors to speak and vote. Since then we have continued to press for reform but there has been no positive outcome. The meeting next week presents a critical opportunity for change which is long overdue.

We hope that you will support a vote to grant fully the dispensations to speak and vote, sought by Mark Bostock, Sue Pearson and Brian Mooney.
