I know I am not the only one who is distressed to find that the Corporation is removing - as part of the 'Decent Homes' contract - the glazed screens in many of the Crescent House kitchens.  They are arguing that they have to do it and that they don't need Listed Building Consent.  This is certainly not my reading of the Listed Building Management Guidelines for the estate which specifically says that removal of these screens requires Listed Building Consent.
My neighbour - sadly not a member this website as no web access - came round last week to tell me how distressed she was that these original features were being destroyed.  She was offered not choice - either the kitchen and bathroom package as it was offered or no modernisation at all. She took the package, but is now regretting it..............
Surely there must be a way to modernise flats without destroying so many of their listed features. Crescent House is listed Grade II*  - so is in the top 10% of listed buildings in terms of significance.
