goldenlaneestate.org is a social networking site open to anyone who lives or works on or in connection with Golden Lane Estate. Anyone who has a particular interest in the estate, for example, as a student, is also welcome to join.  Postings in the forum are ordered by category followed by date of discussion. Piano teacher wanted

Please can anyone recommend a good piano teacher for an adult beginner? Empathy and an ability to communicate would be more important than just pianistic excellence.

I don't have a specific recommendation, but I have seen flyers for piano teachers in Fix coffee on Whitecross St. They are students from Guildhall, I think, so you could also always try going along to their reception to see if they have a list of teachers?

Belhr, thank for the suggestion. I had already emailed the Guildhall and have since received replies from several students which I can follow up. I posted on the Estate web site in the hope of getting a personal recommendation for someone, as it will be difficult to pick the best teacher from a CV.

PS. My neighbours shouldn't worry about the noise from practising. I have an electronic piano with headphones.
