On behalf of GLERA I joined the estate walkabout yesterday evening with Leila Ben-Hassel from the City of London, lighting designers from Exhibit in the parade of shops under Crescent House and a couple of residents. This was an initial consultation before any designs have been carried out and the intention was to establish priorities.

We looked at:

• The podium between Crescent House and Great Arthur House
• The access to the leisure centre
• The terrace behind Hatfield House
• The area around the Rotunda
• The space between Great Arthur House and the community centre.

Discussions centred round lighting levels, the replacement of existing fittings, coordinating the light colour and intensity of lights across the estate and the imaginative use of borrowed light from the blocks.

Funding for the works is to come from Section 106 and Community Infrastructure Levy money.
