Barbican and Golden Lane Neighbourhood Forum - drop in at Community Centre

The Barbican and Golden Lane community has applied to become a designated neighbourhood forum so that it can prepare a neighbourhood plan and participate in local planning matters on a statutory basis. Under the government’s Localism legislation, communities can draw up their own plans that become part of the statutory framework for land use. This will be the City of London’s first neighbourhood forum and neighbourhood plan.The application is supported by local residents, councillors, businesses and community groups such as GLERA and the BA. Event Description

Learn the basics of Latin Dancing from a little Salsa to Cha cha and more for Free. Suitable for beginners.

Taught by the enthusiastic Mauricio, he has won awards for teaching Latin moves, promoting and DJing for over 25 years.

Open to City Carers, friends, family and City residents of all ages. 2.45pm - 3.45pm starting 1st May 2021. Come and join in the fun sessions. Booking is required, for the zoom link email to: CityCarersCommunity@gmail.com

Can I attend one or more sessions?
As carers we understand flexibility is key, you are welcome to join one or all the sessions
Can I volunteer instead of dancing?
Of course we are looking for volunteers to help with the smooth running of the zoom sessions, no previous experience required.
Can I be seated?
The session is designed for standing dancing and not currently tailored to seated salsa. You are most welcome to join in whilst seated within your own limits.
I don’t have access to Zoom:
Contact the Barbican library. Who are remotely teaching residents how to use Zoom if you have access to a computer/tablet/mobile. There may be other options to have a loan equipment for city resident I am trying to find out, as there are many residents who are new to technology.
Who are the City Carers Community?
We provide social support and activities through a series of Zoom sessions run by City of London unpaid carers. We formed in January 2021. If you are looking after someone and would like to suggest an idea to learn, please get in touch. We also run share and learn sessions on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday's of the month at 11.15am & 8pm Last time we discussed disabled badge renewals.
