Bright green 'use the stairs' signs and GLE guinea pig trial

I notice the entire discussion thread about the above has been removed.  Does anyone know why?

Let's hope the same will apply to the unwanted signs.

Yes, I noticed that Jean, when three email alerts said "page does not exist"!   I suspect the person who started the discussion has removed it, due to unfavourable comments ha!?   Healthy debate should be encouraged NOT deleted.

Not sure why this has happened and am looking into it.

Thanks Daniel.
I made a critical comment about the bright green signs. I asked if similar signs were used in the homes of common councillors. My view is that GLE is where we live, we are not part of someone's public health project. Following this posting, the whole discussion appears to have been deleted.

Well pointed out Paul.  Think we can all guess who deleted the discussion thread eh!!!

I don't have any of those ghastly green signs on our landing.  Not enough room with the 'roof garden' spread out!  Ha!

I haven't seen any yet.  Maybe they have realised how unpopular it would be and have seen sense?  Here's hoping. :-)

For sure............no green signs for us eh!!!!!!

Thanks Lubellule.  The thread you found was an earlier discussion thread, the one to which I refer above is still not on here as far as I can tell.  It started off with a long post from someone telling us all to use the stairs and other patronising comments, clearly a cut and paste job from another document as it referred to escalators and such like - hardly GLE.  There was, quite rightly, an overwhelmingly negative response to the whole inept social engineering project and a short while afterwards the whole thread disappeared.

As many have commented above and elsewhere, this is a private estate where we live, not a workplace (a place in which I've been subjected to the same high-handed nonsense about stair use) nor a gym - although given the amount of 'leisure' centre sprawl the Corporation seems to encourage GLE sometimes feels like a sports centre with some flats attached.

I think a lot of us are a bit fed up with the littering of GLE with endless signage which is not aesthetically pleasing nor very helpful to residents, cf. the discussion on Class Base plastering adverts all over the community centre.

I personally found it a bit excessive.  One sign to remind us to use the stairs, fair enough. I am extremely active but a little mental push is fine by me. But the multiple arrows and repetitive signs were a bit much.

That said, it does raise questions as to how we can communicate health issues in different ways.  And the adverts for encouraging a netball tournament have me a bit worried.  I call that game 'whistle ball'. :-)

Well said Jean!!!  Hear..................hear Lubellule!!!
