I have had my old Ebac dehumidifier for about 15 years. It is old and tatty but does the job. Nothing else works as effectively as a dehumidifier. As I was a tenant at the time, and the Corporation purchased one for a neighbour with terrible condensation problems, I eventually managed to get one too. They cost about £300 then, and have no idea what they are now, but am prepared to get a new one when this one finally conks out!

I bought one of the new style desiccant dehumidifiers that works by means of a spinning refrigerated disk. My model is by Neostar, relatively quiet and quite compact. Sadly, though not surprisingly, it is imported from China.
You would not believe the number of litres of water it removes from the air when I run it. It often cuts out because the water tank, which holds 4 litres, is full.
It dramatically reduces condensation in the coldest weather, but uses as much electricity as a 3kw fire when switched to HIGH, so is not necessarily a cheap option. It is, however, better than running water all over the floor in the mornings and mould round all the window frames from constant moisture. The other option, I suppose, is to stop breathing.

You must try harder! After all its your fault you have condensation by breathing!
Now, one, two, and stop!!! Will be back in an hour to see how you are getting on! Ha!Ha!

Funnily enough, the original condensation problems that I had only lasted about a week, and the issue has not returned.....yippee!
