Cullum Welch House- Alterations of internal bathroom/kitchen wall

Hi,

I am looking to purchase a studio flat in Cullum Welch House. Have been struggling to get an answer to a query I have about pushing back the kitchen/bathroom wall to make a bigger kitchen and smaller bathroom. Just wondered if anyone had previously looked into this and knows whether this might be permitted.

Would be very grateful to know,

Many thanks

Hi Matthew

Significant internal changes have to be approved by the Estate Office, who will want to see plans. The process hasn't always been consistent over the years.

Because of the Grade 2 listing I'd be surprised if changing room proportions would be permitted but perhaps Cullum Welch residents can share their experiences of changing that area of the studio flats. The following document may also provide guidance - Golden Lane Estate Listed Building Guidelines - goldenlaneestate.org

Great Arthur House is also Grade 2 listing, but they are changing room proportions to turn the estate office into flats.
