Save Bernard Morgan House

City of London

My garage was broken into and ransacked last night. The police were really professional and treated it with full respect. However anybody who uses the garages should be on alert. Hopefully the CCTV picked something up!!

I went past the garages a few nights ago and noticed one of the garages was wide open, the garage had a lot of belongings in it I assumed maybe someone had driven away without locking it or had deliberately left it open, never thought that maybe it had been broken into, didn't look ransacked, probably not your garage, but it was only a glance in th e gloom. Six months ago I also witnessed the theft of a residents laptop bag while they were moving out, they were stacking their belongings next to the lift in the basement of crescent and Cullum welch house.

I was also told last year by the estate office and a manager for Wates living Space that the cctv at the basement of Crescent and Cullum welch that covers the lift door didn't work.

I was at my garage at 12pm yesterday to get my car, so probably not my one. As for the CCTV not working, that really doesn't surprise me.

I think it's a case of it works when its to their benefit.

Haha, yeah that sounds about right!

Maybe how far up the estate and housing departments  pecking order you are , and how up to date you are with the old gratuities and tips game.

:-)

Well the City of London Police will be contacting the estate office over the next couple of days, so I will be interested to find out if it all works.

Hi Steve.  As a member of the Committee I am also interested in the issue of the CCTV.  Could you post up what happens so I can report back to the rest of the Committee.  Am very sorry this happened to you.

Thanks Maria, don't worry I will do.

I was a victim of xenophobic abuse and intimidation from a member of the City of London's staff about a year ago, the police attended at my request, I was given  a cab number, then I was told a few weeks later by the estate office and by a manager at Wates Living Space that there was no cctv capture despite it being directly in front of and within 5 meters of at least one cctv pointed directly at us, I was also told there were no witness's despite the perpetrator being accompanied the whole time by his colleague who actually told me while I was ringing the police, "I wouldn't do that if I were you mate".
