I've noticed a number of questions on this site regarding replacing windows, concrete testing etc. I'm always shocked at the few people that attend the residents meetings yet are vocal with their moaning on this site. All these issues are addressed at the meetings, not only that, you get to meet your neighbours! I'd be interested to know reasons why people don't attend, or if you have been why you have stopped. I think we should then address these issues and try and get more people engaged in the residents association.

Just on this point, although the Estate Management now host quarterly meetings which all residents can attend, I am also looking to organise a similar meeting in January next year with your elected representatives. Once a date and venue have been fixed, they will be communicated here as well as by other means.

I encouraged the Management last year to communicate directly with residents by e-mail (in addition to the traditional means of communication, not as a substitute) and I hope there is now some evidence that the necessary work has been done to enable this. It has proved very effective on the Barbican Estate, with a majority of homes now covered by the e-mail network. Is this now working?

Stefi - I hope this changes soon, I agree that e-mail should not replace other methods of communication, but the only issue holding things up was a software issue and some internal City of London delays, so I had been expecting by now there should be an e-mail system for Estate communications, with an invitation for residents to sign up to the service if they wish to do so.
